We are happy to announce the programme and process for the South East Senior Regional Teams for the 2023/2024 season.
This year's tournament will be held within the South East Region and we are really aiming to build on the last couple of years. This year we have implemented the following:
New Staff team for 2023/24
Consulted with players and looked at clashes regarding dates so as many players as possible can attend
New kits ordered for the tournament following a player vote
Updated selection process to make sure it is transparent and clear how it will work
Therefore, we are pleased to announce the staff for 2023/2024:
Head Coach: Ash Gloster
Assistant Coach: Linzi Mills
Manager: Lara Owen
Coaches for the B team are being invited to December training and will then be confirmed before the February training
We will be playing the NEW 2022-2024 Women's International Rules for this Regional Tournament. This will be a great opportunity to get practice playing the rules prior to the Senior Women's Euros next summer, as well as before it comes into the wider game next season.
Dates for your diary:
16th December: 1pm-4pm Open training afternoon.
Venue: Springwest Academy, Feltham
This training afternoon will be open trials for anyone who is eligible to play for SE to attend. Please come to this session if you are able and recommend this session to any friends, club and university players you know that would benefit from some elite training to help develop their game and help raise the standard of our teams. This date is not mandatory for current England/Wales/Scotland National Squad players (10 a-side), but you are still welcome to attend. If you are a National Squad player for a different country, please get in touch so we can decide if you should attend or not.
17th December: Training match vs Wales
Venue: Oxford Academy
The squad for this match will be selected from those who state they are available on the player registration form, and then we will invite any further players from the 16th training afternoon, so please do hold all dates if you are able.
10th OR 11th February 2024: Training afternoon
Venue: Springwest Academy Feltham
The February training afternoon will then be mandatory for all players who want to make the finalised squads. Only one date will be chosen once we have player availability. If you cannot make this date, please get in touch so that we can investigate whether an exception can be made, as we would like to keep the process transparent for other players as well.
Feb/March Date TBC: Pre-Tournament Team Meeting (online)
In order to make final preparations, we will have a team zoom call sometime after selection, before the tournament. The exact date will be confirmed at a later date.
23rd/24th March 2024: Regional Tournament weekend
We ask all players to hold the tournament dates in their diaries until selection is confirmed. We are in the process of documenting the updated selection process and will send this out to everyone when complete.
Eligibility:
You can trial and play for the South East Region if you meet any of the following criteria:
Birth within the Regional boundary or
Bona fide residence for a period of at least six months or in the case of a university, college or school three months for the season in question (by the date of the tournament) or
Three seasons as a member of the Regional Team or
Registered to a club which is registered to that region, or competing in the league system of that region
You must also have a valid England Lacrosse membership for the 2023/2024 season.

Costs:
While the SE Committee pay for the kit and subsidise other costs, there will still be a cost to train and play for the region (venue hire, staff costs etc).
16th December: £35
17th December match fee: £10
February training: TBC (but max £35)
Tournament: No cost
Fees will be collected when attendees are confirmed for all dates.
